"only half Metro Manila households will get government aid" the article said. ampota! the president said we have the money. 230 billion pesos. half of my brain said that that is not much. the other half says it is. well apparently kulang nga. so i'm thinking the leaders of this goverment are not leaders. they're not leading.
i have a feeling that they will extend the quarantine until the end of april.
life is hard enough, you're just making it harder.

Pilipinas in the Middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic
So this post comes in the middle of an ongoing covid-19 pandemic. There are a number of fake news popping up left up left and right that muddles up things for most people and just proves to be an unnecessary distraction from the important matters right in front of you.
government response is on the slow side. and people are impatient. but some branches of government move faster than the national government and some people think that it's competition. seriously?! how childish can you get?!
a senator -- koko pimentel -- knowing that he is a person under investigation for covid-a9 and that he's in self-quarantine, walked into makati medical center with his pregnant wife was suppose to give birth. he was confirmed that he has covid-19 while he was in the hospital. dude, you're suppose to be an intelligent person! you're a pui and you go to a hospital endangering the lives of doctors, nurses and staff there that are helping other people. wtf?!? people voted for this guy?!? for the past few days he has been quiet.
i remember before all this exploded in the country, the government donated a planeload of face masks to wuhan, china and i was thinking to myself "hey, don't we need that?" and that the government said we have plenty but now, there's this freaking shortage of face masks for the Filipinos.
since the middle of january of 2020 there was a call to not let anyone from mainland china enter the country. the government refused as china, no, the chinese communist party might take offense. so our doors were left open not only to the chinese but also the virus.
i have been analyzing duterte's behavioral patterns. and they give me impression that he is trying to manage this pandemic the best he could. it just gets muddled and delayed by the people he surrounds himself with. his age shows his impatience with people that doesn't agree with his thinking. it is hard to make old dogs learn new tricks. and here it shows -- he uses the local cuss words a lot if he feels he's being pushed. someone has to work around that.
manuelito luna, a pacc commissioner got sacked because he wanted to have leni investigated saying that she's competing with the government efforts. what the fuck dude! is your head on right?! we're in the middle of a pandemic and you think that government offices are competing with each other?! fuck off! be useless someplace else.

china - the slow invader
I just read that china just seized sandbars around Thitu Island. Never trust the Chinese government. They say one thing and does another. Liars.
The Philippine government cannot really do anything about it right now except bark. Or maybe they can release the people who fanatically follow the Philippine president on these chinese fishing militia. That would be a sight.
But the Philippine government will just hold a press release and bark a half-assed protest to the chinese government. And the 'gutsy' president will just say, "What can we do?"
Protest publicly. File a protest in the UN. Voice out protests on social media. Shout out that this chinese government is a slow invader. They have been trying to do it with their immediate neighbors. They did it to Tibet. They're doing it to parts of the former USSR.
And by the looks of it, the chinese will never stop this slow invasion until they face a bigger bully.

Bongbong
Bongbong Marcos (no Dears please),
You have been going around the country telling people who are willing to listen that you have been cheated from the position of Vice-President of the Philippines. Boo-hoo. You have always been a cry baby (just ask your sisters). As far as I see you're the only one making noise about being cheated on in the last election. Personally, I do not think you even deserve the position. History is my basis. You grew up with your dictator father and lived under his wing. I have heard rumors that you were abusive then but then again, rumors are rumors and they do deserve that grain of salt. But that's another story for another day. Anyway, you grew up with Dictator Daddy and news about abuses of martial law are rampant. What did you do? Nothing, as far as I can remember. You did nothing. You stood aside and let the injustice happen. You let it happen. You could have done something but you didn't.
That's on you.
No. You do not deserve to be the second-in-command so cry all you want. We're done with you.
Now, about your father...

The List
It was certainly an interesting morning today. The List finally came out and I know at least one of the names there. It has been the rumors for years now and confirmation came in trickles. But Amante's name is there where it belongs.
I like this Philippine president. He's got balls. The following week will be full of denials (while they attempt to flee). Maybe one or two will man up and turn themselves in. Maybe some of them will fight it out. Let's see.
I'm stocking up on popcorn. With butter please.

Government of China, Vacation is over
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi recently said at the CSIS in Washington , D.C. that China is a member of the international community and that it abides by international law.
Dude (I am referring to you, Wang Yi), just in case you did not notice, the people you are talking to are not stupid like you assume them (or us) to be. We all know that China does not own Scarborough Shoal where some of its military personnel are taking a vacation in. News to you? Well, its not news to the international community which you claim China is a member of and abide by its rules. So, get this:
And please, please, stop the lying and the propaganda for the Chinese government. You're just making the Chinese people look bad to the international community.
p.s. I make the distinction that the Chinese government and the Chinese people are two separate entities where the stupid views of the former does not reflect the views of the other.

balikbayan boxes
To Customs Chief Alberto Lina:
Has the smugglers gotten too big and too difficult to catch?
And you thought that Balikbayan boxes are easier prey?
The quota from the Palace has been upped?
Lazy basterds.

“Filipinos leave their country to work abroad because they have to, not because they have no opportunities in their country.”
-- PNoy
I do not know why the Philippines is graced with an idiot for a president
Filipinos leave their country to work abroad because the opportunities in their own country does not pay enough to cover everything they need in life. If the opportunities paid enough they we will stay.
That's the simple explanation. Gets mo?
Compare salaries here and abroad for a domestic helper or a basic construction worker then maybe, just maybe, you’ll get my drift. If not then please do not assume you can speak for the OFWs because you’re not one of us.

DMCI's Torre de Manila (aka Dick)
Ah DMCI. You’ve pushed it to see how far you can get away with it. It was obvious from the lack of paper trail that you left behind. You cut corners. You may have paid some asswipe in city hall to expedite matters so that by the time anyone notices it’ll be too late. Well, congratulations DMCI. Now everyone can see your ‘dick’ from Luneta Park.
And now that construction has been halted, you put your efforts into damage control. Of course you have to protect the millions that you’ve poured in constructing your ‘dick’. Suggestions to keep your ‘dick’ up varied from putting up a reflective glass around it (think reflective condom) to turning the Rizal monument 180 degrees. Both ideas have their merits (zero) but in the end, not as elegant as building implosions. Visit that link from the Wiki, it has nice GIFs of grown buildings coming down in seconds. I found it fascinating.
From this point on, everyone will know that all your efforts to keep your ‘dick’ up is just to save the money you put into it. You got greedy. It is just unfortunate that you do not have any balls to admit your mistake.

response to the annoucement before holy communion
it is with some amusement that i read the announcement before holy communion at the santuario de san jose requesting parishioners not receive holy communion until they go to confession and renounce the rh bill.
for the record i have not received holy communion for some years now. i also have not gone to confession for a little over two decades. i do not feel the need to.
i have always believed that if i truly am sorry for my sins that my god will forgive me because he is god. i also believe that god lives in me and part of me in god. i try to look for god in each person as well as in me. and i ask him if i am fit to receive holy communion. its not always a 'yes' but each time i receive a silent reply i say a prayer of thanks and forgiveness and i look forward to the next opportunity.
as to the cardinals, please do not make the mistake of equating the pope to god. there simply is no comparison. the pope is still a man, after all.
so come sunday i will go to mass with my family and i will ask god who resides in me if i am worthy to receive holy communion. and i will say a prayer of thanks and forgiveness.

shameless basterds
garcia is guilty. put him in jail already. let him rot there. our soldiers do not deserve this kind of treatment. gutierrez (ombudsman), espina and carague (coa) should be publicly shamed. and how can i trust ucpd anymore?
shameless bastards.
and heidi mendoza should be the one heading the coa instead of that idiot.
wow. an honest person heading the commission on audit. imagine that.

quit while you're ahead
sigh. some people don't really know when to stop. listen carefully. i work for you 9 to 5, twice a month. unless there's a-fire-in-the-office emergency sort of thing going on
that's one of the reasons why someone invented e-mail.
duh.
you don't get to call me after six pm.

YisrÄ'el
i am bothered by the events happening around the gaza strip. it appears that civilians while bringing food and medical aid to the gaza strip have been killed by israeli commandos. it also appears that the commandos fought back pipes and knives with automatic weapons and said that they "defended themselves". well, it seems to me that they wouldn't have defended themselves and killed civilians if they didn't board the ship, would they?
you can label worldwide criticism for your actions as "hypocrisy" all you can but all these people cannot be wrong. in case the fact escaped you, different governments and different religions did not look kindly to you your attack and are saying one thing. you are being scolded and you should listen.
you are doing something wrong. find another way.

clip their wings already
i think its time to clip their wings. this is going overboard already. do they think that just because her term is about to end that they can get away with it?
this is a photo of mikey arroyo buying liquor while katipunan is flooding. is this really just what a congressman does? then why is he still in office if he doesn't even help?!?! the photo was from facebook.
gma used P800-million emergency fund for foreign trips
maybe this is the reason why she suddenly setup a disaster command post in marikina--to cover this up.
clip their wings already. they're just making things worse.

mikey and the cookie jar
apparently mikey "sumi" arroyo is suddenly in the limelight. that's not exactly a bad thing if you're an up and coming movie star but its not exactly good if you're a politician trying to hide a suddenly growing portfolio of assets--php 50,000 to 156 million in 16 years according to raissa.
my, it certainly appears that being a congressman is like winning the lotto.
by now, and this is just my assumption, sumi has been given a lecture by his mommy and daddy. public speaking 101. by now, and this is just my assumption, sumi's lawyers are formulating or have already finished a damage control plan.
its a shame really. "...so sue me..." is not something one would expect from a grandson of diosdado and its not something anyone would expect especially from an "educated" elected official. it is something i would expect from a child caught with one hand inside the cookie jar.
so, sumi, with all this publicity you're getting it doesn't really matter if you get sued or not--although i imagine someone eventually would. people already saw how you reacted when caught in a tight spot and they think you are already guilty.

how to make millions and get away with it
5 million pesos to more than 75 million pesos within a span of four years. how does one make that kind money in that amount of time?
this has corruption written all over it.
and i'll say it again. we're not stupid. don't even try thinking that we are.
you should be ashamed of yourself mikey. didn't your mother teach you anything?
wait a minute. that wasn't the right question, was it?
sidecars with motors
they are popularly known as the sidecar. but this one is different from the more common pedicab. it doesn't have pedals so you can't exactly call it a pedicab. this is different. this breed has a motor making it a motorized vehicle.
now, unless i am mistaken, all motorized vehicles should be registered with the land tranportation office (lto). properly registered vehicles would then be issued the appropriate vehicle plate number.
these sidecars have a motor installed and they are no plate numbers from the lto indicating that they are not registered. why is that, lto? these things are all over the streets dodging and weaving and doing anything they please. as far as i can remember they popped up on the streets a couple of years ago as a way of transporting vegetables around neighborhoods. and now the metro streets are peppered with them.
what irritates me is that the lto is doing absolutely nothing to regulate these sidecars. were they tested for safety? do the 'drivers' of these things licensed? you can really put blame on the local police (or the mmda) because the lto hasn't said anything regarding sidecars. maybe the lto officers are too ensconced in their air-conditioned offices or their heavily tinted, air-conditioned vehicles to notice or care.
dudes, we are not stupid. stop trying to make us look like we are.
somebody in government is not doing their job (typical). and they're getting paid for it (shameful, really). you'll know its them because they are always the first to deny it.
if the intelligent powers that be are reading this, replace that guy in lto with one that can do the job properly.

classrooms or dinner?
we don't have enough money for classrooms because somebody is too busy spending a million pesos on dinner.
hmmm... how many classrooms do you think we can make from one or two million pesos? (they had two dinners, right?)

bayani's flooding improvement
it rained heavily this early morning for about two hours. there was loud thunder and lightning. the skies poured a lot of water onto manila and left more than 12 inches on the streets. this is the second time it happened this year. in the previous years, if my observations are correct, the flood levels would reach 9 to 10 inches. and this was after bayani fernando of the metro manila development authority (mmda) was tasked to improve the flooding in metro manila. and this task has a huge budget attached to it.
now i am asking what happened to all that money and if it was wasted on bayani. i'd like to know, if no one else does. he should be accountable for spending the people's money--as is everyone else who does.
if bayani calls the more than two-inches increase in flood waters and "improvement" then i shudder to think what would happen to the country if gets elected to office. he should be replaced already.
p.s. i saw a couple of guys pass by in front of the house paddling in a yellow kayak. the flood waters are that bad
update: its been 12 hours since the skies poured its axiety and there's still about six inches of floodwaters on the streets. did bayani really do his job? it doesn't appear like it. do you think he will do his job when he gets elected for office? i certainly don't think so.

Reading books is Educational, Stupid.
The treaty (1950 Florence Agreement) has provided for duty-free importation of books to guarantee the free flow of “educational, scientific, and cultural materials” between countries and declared that imported books should be duty-free.
But Finance Undersecretary Espele Sales reportedly brushed off this argument, saying novels and reading books are “not educational.”
Stupid.
“Novels and reading books are not eductional.” Simply stupid.
Who the hell hired this person?!? Shameful, really.
Doesn't s/he realize that there are still people who think in this country?!?
Don't make us stupid because we Filipinos are not.
Books are educational. Or didn't you read about it in school?
Get this person out of that office and out of government! Shame on you for hiring someone that stupid.
This is what the fuss is all about.
Time line here.
